Trip Description: Back by popular demand, we will run the Meccacopia trail east of the Salton Sea and meet up with the historic gold rush era Bradshaw trail, ending up near Wiley’s Well campground on Saturday night. Sunday will be an optional trip to the Hauser geode beds for some rock hounding or a simple drive back to San Diego if you prefer.

Rating: Easy to Moderate, with ruts and rocks (depending on recent rains).

Time & Place to Meet:

• Meet: Saturday, March 21st, 8:30 am
• Where: Deer Springs Park and Ride (Deer Springs and I-15) Please arrive fueled up!

What to bring:

• Sense of adventure
• Camping gear
• Bundle of fire wood
• Water and food for your vehicle’s occupants for one night
• A warm jacket, it can be cold in the desert at night
• Any lock nuts and tools for changing tires
• ham radio (club has loaners if you need one)
• Recovery gear
• Air compressor for tires, if airing down
