Trip Description: Favorable rains this winter, coupled with a natural 10 year bloom cycle, have resulted in a good show for flowers in Death Valley this year. The lower elevations in the park should show through March and then the mid-elevations will kick in. We should be able to see some of each when we visit the park! We’ll enter on the east side near Lee Flat and travel through teakettle junction (bring a kettle to donate or a note to leave in an existing kettle) and then the racetrack, camping at Homestake dry camp. On Saturday, we’ll see Ubehebe Crater, Artists Palette and other sites before camping near Furnace Creek. On Sunday, we can either head out early, or do a short run like Hanaupah Canyon before driving home.

Rating: Easy to Moderate, with ruts and rocks (depending on recent rains).
